Happy Holiday's
This
Sunday Dec 1st. was the night we wait all year for our Annual Holiday
Party. We had the party at Cove Kay's Country Club in Clearwater. This
is the second year we had our party there and it was perfect just like
last year. We had a full house of chapter members and their guests. Bob
and Lucille Fletcher were there for to enjoy the night with us.
They had all the appetizers and bar out side on the patio where they
had tables and chairs set up in case you wanted to sit outside. The
fountain out in the lake was beautiful. The night temperature was
perfect to sit out there. Christine ordered extra shrimp for this year's
party being everyone loved it so much last time. We also had stuffed
mushrooms, and scallops wrapped in bacon. Everything was delicious
!!!!!! The main course was just as good , there was roast beef , stuffed
chicken, real mashed potatoes and more ! We ate till we could eat no
more !!!
After we finished eating it was time to burn off some of that food and
dance!!!! Christine got some great live music for us this year . They
were very very good. We all danced in couples , buy ourselves , in
groups ,it didn't matter as long as there was music we danced ! We even
got some dance lessons from the woman in the band. She had us doing all
kinds of dancing, line dancing, disco , we even did a cat walk like
models to the song ' I'm To Sexy ' around the room , out side and
back!!! It was so much fun. The ladies of the chapter danced all night
, we did have some men up there line dancing and doing the chicken
dance. They even did some slow cuddling dancing .Santa danced playfully
as he listened very carefully to a special gift request that was sung to
him.
All
thru the evening Deneice Bonofiglio and Diana Hinkley sold 50 / 50
tickets. They went from table to table selling tickets and spreading
some of their holiday cheer and smiles. We will miss them next year !!
Then at about 9:30 or so we had the drawing . The pot was split in half
so we had two winners instead of just one . Then it was time for the
oooooze's and aaaaaaaah's . Mike Ricker was kind enough to help out
the ladies. He held up all the items in the raffle for us to see while
the band played some great sound effect as he held each thing up for us
to see. Everything was rolling right along until Diana called out the
last number of the night and nobody came to claim their prize. She
called it again and again. Then she said to her husband check and see if
it's my number. Steve said he wasn't sure of how to open her purse so it
was Eilene to the rescue. I opened it up and screamed when I saw how
much stuff was in this little purse. Now I know why Steve didn't want to
open it. I emptied the purse out on the table and all the way at the
bottom of this almost bottom less purse was the winning ticket I ran it
up to Diana and then Steve came up to take the Christmas stocking they
had won.
I
think this was our best party so far . Every year they get better and
better !!
Christine did an fantastic job putting this party
together !!!!!!!
We laughed and danced and had an evening to
remember.
And there are some very important people we can't forget
to thank and that is Santa and his beautiful wife ( Al and Sue
Clark)
We are ending this year
full of great memories we have made together !!!!!
