Last Minute Ride to New Life Apostolic Church, June 6, 2008

We got a last minute request from J-9 to get a few bikes together and ride to the New Life Apostolic Church in St Pete. J-9, Denise McFarland, Ed Kozlowski, and I answered the call and frankly, we had a ball.
It seems the church was having a celebration they called Holy Devotion (H-D) and wanted a few Harley's to kick it off in some pictures.
After assembling and departing from Quaker Steak and Lube, we showed up at the church about 5 Pm and were greeted with smiles and the ladies of the church all decked out in orange and black leather. Their shirts had a familiar logo that now said "Holy Devotion" where more familiar words are normally found.
Although they appreciated all the bikes, they seemed drawn to Big Ed's Blue Ultra and soon he was giving rides around the block to many first time riders. One was a lady who was reported to be almost 80 years old and she was loving it.
Following the rides and photos we were all invited to stay for supper which I will tell you was delicious.
The following day there was a picnic at Walsingham Park and we were all invited to participate. Unfortunately, only Ed, Bonny and J-9 were able to go but they reported that the food was fantastic. Ribs cooked to perfection, chicken, shrimp, potato salad and all the other picnic trimmings to delight your taste buds. Of course, there were more rides to be given and Ed happily obliged.
A nice time with nice people and great food to boot.
Thanks to J-9 and the ladies of the New Life Apostolic Church for this last minute ride.
