Salvation Saloon Ride to Glory

 

           Well, judging from the turnout for this ride vs. Mr. Bones, it seems our members are far more interested in saving leftover’s then their souls but I have to tell you, the 4 of us that did show had a great time.

            George, Mark, Tom and I rode off into the early morn and the weather was so inviting it was hard to stop at our destination without continuing on for another hundred miles. We resisted temptation, pun intended, and arrived at Coconuts Comedy Club on Gulf to Bay, the current home to the Watering Hole Church and the World Famous Salvation Saloon.

            Pastor Paul White greeted George, Mark, and Tom as we dismounted our rides and made them feel welcomed from the first minute their feet hit the ground. Inside we found the promised coffee and donuts along with fresh fruit and more smiling faces including those of some other Chapter members who already attend.

            The service began as usual with a couple songs performed by the also “World Famous” Posse Band who are the regular ”house band” for the Watering Hole. They got things off to a bang with a lively tune called, what else, “The Watering Hole”. Things just kept spiraling upward from there. It was fun and fantastic. Frankly, it was as much fun as anyone should have on Sunday morning.

            It was easy for me to go since I go most Sundays but George, Mark, Tom, being first timers, said they had a great time and could not relate it to any other church experience they have ever had. I believe that is a good thing.

            You don’t have to wait for another ride or a personal invite to see what you are missing. Just stop by about 9:30 for coffee and donuts. But remember, they are only open Sundays.

 

            Following the service we rode to the Country Legends Café in Dunedin for brunch and were treated to a menu of culinary delights that would satisfy any palette. Well,,,,, most.
